THERE ARE NO WEAK LINKS IN THIS CHAIN

HAVING BEEN PART OF A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS IN THE MORTGAGE SHOP FOR OVER 25 YEARS, I CAN CATEGORICALLY STATE THAT IF YOU HAVE GOOD ADMINISTRATORS AND PA’S, THEN YOUR BUSINESS

WILL BE MORE STREAMLINED, AND CUSTOMERS WILL GET GOOD OUTCOMES.

Gary Fairhall, Company Director

The Mortgage Shop

We have been employing staff at The Mortgage Shop during all these years and many have spent a long time with us – and very rarely leave! In fact, Andrea Studden retired only last year after spending 18 years looking after us.

This is very much a two-way street, and if you look after your staff, they look after you. This has been my experience.

We have Heidi Mallon who has been with us for 18 years. Heidi is the one person you want in your corner. She will always be tenacious and look to solve problems whilst remaining calm, positive and professional. She looks after the mortgage chasing and her background of sales progression in an estate agent has proved invaluable. Often Heidi has 150 mortgages in her pipeline at one

time.

Henry Tucker is now a fully qualified mortgage adviser (and my nephew), but still plays a role in life protection administration and chasing client broker fees. He was a mortgage administrator liaising with clients whilst building up his confidence. He is the social media guru, so he wears many hats and is well known in the office for his systems and slick processes (and he loves a trip to Ibiza and may hide away for a day or two upon his return!).

…WITHOUT THESE PEOPLE AROUND ME, THE BUSINESS WOULD NOT BE WHAT IT IS NOW!”

Ben Hornsey is my stepson and has been with us for just over a year. He deals with mortgage processing and uploading documents to PRIMIS and lenders. He is enthusiastic and is working his way towards becoming a qualified mortgage broker. He has settled into the team and is very polite on the telephone.

Russell Friend has been with us for almost 20 years and is the team player of the office. He runs the building and contents department and has assisted thousands of clients over the years. He is as dedicated as anyone I have ever met and rarely misses a day through sickness. He even discards our paper waste at the local dump each week!

Arthur Fairhall, my dad, has been with me over 25 years and deals with the payroll, commission, and anything financial – including balancing the bank accounts. Again, a big part of the TMS family and doubles up as the office handyman, especially as I can’t tell a screwdriver from a hammer!

Finally, Justine Harrod, the newest addition, has been with us for nine months. Justine is a para‑planner to me and a key team player who mucks in with anything the mortgage administrators require. Great on the telephone, she has just passed CeMAP 1, 2 and 3 and is another destined to progress to a full-time mortgage broker.

In summary, without these people around me, the business would not be what it is now. The clients would not be as looked after, and if you are in any doubt if you need good administrators, look at my business model and our google reviews.

The administrators are mentioned as much as the brokers; a real testament that we are all one team.at Barclays
